遅くなりましたが、、今年入社したウクライナ人社員さんの歓迎会と忘年会が、行われました。Although it’s a little late, we held a welcome party and year-end party for our Ukrainian employees who joined us this year.
地域企業を応援する原則Principles for supporting local businesses
大川印刷の宴会は基本、チェーン店ではなく、地域の個店を使わせてもらおうという原則があります。大企業のチェーン店は(業績など)都合が悪くなると地域からあっという間に閉店して消えてしまうため、地域のつながりは地域に根差した「地域企業」と関係性を育んでいきたいと思っているからです。Ohkawa Printing’s basic principle for banquets is to use local independent stores rather than chain stores. Large corporate chain stores quickly close down and disappear from the area when things go wrong (such as business performance), so we want to foster relationships with local businesses that are rooted in the community.
サービス料がかかるお店ってどんな店？What kind of stores charge a service fee?
ですが、今日は別のお題として「サービス料を別にかかるお店をみんなで体験してみよう」ということで、チェーン店ですが私自ら提案したお店にしました。However, today’s theme was something different: “Let’s all try out a restaurant that charges a separate service charge,” so I chose a chain restaurant that I suggested myself.
滞在した2時間くらいの間に3組のお客さんの誕生会があって、花火付きのデザートが行き交い、タンバリンで盛り上げてくれている音が聞こえてきました。基本決まったスタッフがオーダーを取ってサービスしてくれました。During the two hours or so I stayed there, three groups of guests had birthday parties, and I could hear desserts with sparklers being passed around and the sound of tambourines adding excitement. The same staff took orders and served the guests.
ウクライナ人の社員さんは日本語の上達スピードも早く、私たち日本人の外国語に向かう姿勢を考えさせられます。何年かけてもあまり話せない💦。The Ukrainian employees are improving their Japanese skills at a rapid pace, which makes me think about how we Japanese people approach foreign languages. Even after years of studying, I still can’t speak much.
ということで、コミュニケーションにもなんら問題なく、ウクライナ語を間違えて覚えた社員さんを指摘する場面も(笑)。So, there were no problems with communication, and there was even a moment when I pointed out an employee who had learned Ukrainian incorrectly (laughs).
楽しいひとときでしたが、遠く離れた故郷では戦争が行われているわけで、何もできない私は、このようなカタチで束の間の楽しさを提供するしかないのでした。It was a fun time, but there was a war going on in her hometown far away, and there was nothing I could do but provide a brief moment of enjoyment in this way.
