若い頃よく聴いていたこの曲を久しぶりに聴きました。I recently listened to this song, which I used to listen to a lot when I was younger.
リーダーで中心的存在のDuane Allmanを24歳という若さでオートバイ事故で失った後のバンド、第1作目の第一曲目ということで、複雑な思いが演奏する側にも聴く側にもあって当然のタイミングでリリースされた作品です。This is the first track on the band’s first album after losing their leader and central figure, Duane Allman, in a motorcycle accident at the young age of 24, so it was released at a time when it was only natural that both the performers and listeners would have mixed emotions.

父が亡くなった時この曲を聴き、本当に「時はもう無駄にできない」、と考え過ごして来ましたが、「今度は兄も失うのか！」と思い、益々人生の儚さや突然の運命を感じないわけにはいきませんでした。 When I heard this song when my father passed away, I really thought to myself, “I can’t waste any more time,” but then I thought, “Now I’m going to lose my brother too!” and I couldn’t help but feel even more strongly about the transience of life and the suddenness of fate.
一日一生 a day for life
そんなことを思ってみたところで時の流れは止めることもできず、気付けば60歳の手前まで来てしまいました。 Even if I thought about such things, I couldn’t stop the flow of time, and before I knew it, I was almost 60 years old.
